At Miango Junction, take a left and continue straight to the military checkpoint. Once you reach the checkpoint, take a right on Miango Road and continue about 1 kilometer, the Rafiki Village has the red roofs and the entrance gate is on your left.)

Speakers

Rev. Kenneth Mbugua

​Rev. Kenneth Mbugua is the senior pastor of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Nairobi, Kenya and is a Council member of The Gospel Coalition Africa. He is the Managing Director of Ekklesia Africa which promotes biblical resources for building healthy churches. Kenneth is married to Arlette and they have three children. He has an undergraduate degree in Bible from Central Africa Baptist College in Kitwe, Zambia. He has a passion for missions, expository preaching and a love for Christ’s Church.

Dr. Brian Williams

​Dr. Williams is the General Editor of Principia: A Journal of Classical Education, a national Alcuin Fellow, a Research Fellow with the Institute of Classical Education, and a member of the Academic Advisory Board for the Classic Learning Test. He is also a co-organizer of 100daysof Dante.com. Dr. Williams previously served as the Departmental Lecturer in Theology and Christian Ethics at the University of Oxford (UK), where he also directed a collection of curated video interviews with Christian academics and scholars at Oxford. Prior to that, he taught theology, philosophy, and literature at Cair Paravel Latin School (Topeka, KS). He holds an MPhil and DPhil in Christian Ethics from the University of Oxford (UK); and a MA and ThM in Systematic and Historical Theology from Regent College (Vancouver, Canada). Dr. Williams' academic work focuses on virtue ethics, Dante's Comedy, the just war tradition, and the long tradition of classical education, especially in the work of Hugh of St. Victor, Philip Melanchthon, and John Henry Newman.

Nigerian Educators

Conference workshops will feature educators from the Rafiki School and partner schools on how to implement Rafiki’s classical Christian curriculum in the Nigerian context.

Mrs. Robyn Burlew​​

​Robyn Estep Burlew has taught Biology and Mathematics and served as Head of Upper School at Veritas School in Richmond, Virginia, and Covenant Christian Academy in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Houghton College and a Master of Education in Integrated Curriculum and Instruction from Covenant College. She has three adult daughters and four grandchildren. Robyn is a member of Redeemer Anglican Church in Richmond, Virginia.

Mrs. Jessica Gombert​​

​Jessica Gombert is in her 20th year as the Grammar School Headmaster at Geneva School of Boerne. She holds an MA in Education and has been involved in many aspects of education for over 35 years. Teaching experiences include special education, kindergarten, adult classes for Region 20 Alternative Certification Program and university student teacher supervision. She delights in teaching students to become life-long learners, encouraging and leading teachers. She is dedicated to Christian and classical education. Jessica has led The Society for Classical Learning’s Grammar School Head cohort for several years and has presented at numerous conferences. She is passionate about reading instruction and is currently writing student readers to supplement the phonics curriculum. She has a love for serving and teaching children in Africa. She has taught and trained teachers in Zambia, Uganda, and Rwanda.
